Tippings

Tipping is an accepted practice, and 10% is considered standard for waiters, bellboys, and other hotel and restaurant personnel. In restaurants and hotels that tack the 10% service charge onto the bill, tipping is optional (though it is customary to leave loose change). At Ninoy Aquino International Airport, you pay P30 per cart, and porters expect P10 for each piece of luggage (in addition to P10 per piece paid to the porter office). Hotel doormen and bellboys should get about the same. For taxi drivers, P30 is fine for the average 2-km ride.
