The quality of medical care is alarmingly low, especially in rural areas.

Some attention has to be paid to safety in the country. However, the atmosphere is far from hostile or violent. The cautiousness that should be followed in other major cities in the world is sufficient.

Personal belongings, home equipment and business facilities should be protected by insurance. A good piece of advice is to use a Finnish insurance company, because if an accident takes place, it might be very difficult and time-consuming to get compensation from a Philippine company.
